Install the PLAY Software Update each time after you install a new product from the DVD as it will bring all PLAY titles to the same program version.
Be sure to select all the products you have installed on your computer from the custom install menu to ensure all updated product components get installed.
The PLAY Software Update will install the entire feature for each product chosen from the custom menu. In the case you want to install PLAY to another computer, but would rather not install the library again, please see the following:
1) Transfer the libraries from one drive to the other. by drag and drop.
2) Install the latest Play software update and during the custom install choose which product titles you 'd like to install. This will install the entire feature, there is no need to install from the DVD.
3) Set the directory of each product to it's respective Instrument folder. Instructions are below.
a. Go to the browser menu in Play.
b. Locate the favorites window in the bottom left above the keyboard and control + click (MAC) or right-click (PC) on the product title and choose to "set product library directory". If no entry exists for your product, choose "add another product directory" and choose the desired product title.
c. Navigate to the product title's 'Instruments' folder (NOT 'Samples' folder) and click choose.
d. Now run the sample / instrument updates for your product. Please choose the default installation directory (system drive) as the updates will be directed to the correct location per the directory you just set in the favorites window. There is no need to direct it to the library location in the instrument or samples update installer.
